MEGADETH Bassist Checks In From Europe

February 26, 2008

MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has issued the following update:

"My head's still reeling from an incredible UK run. Great, great gathering of metalheads, both old and relatively new. Most the band's been pretty ill throughout this run, but the fervor at the shows was overwhelming enough to distract us and overcome all that.

"I want to thank the bloke in Newcastle who was kind enough to share his beer with me from the seventh row. At first I was pissed off (not pissed) and then I realized that it was probably just an old BLACK LABEL SOCIETY fan that owed me one. Thanks anyway!

"Now we're back at the Elysee Montmartre in Paris. I'm sure I've been through this place at least five times in my career so it's always great to be here again. In a way, it even feels to me like being home again. Great!!!

"Anyway, just checking in with y'all whilst we plow through Europe but just want you to know what a lovely time we're all having on this trip."

MEGADETH's February 4, 2008 concert in Helsinki, Finland marked the band's live debut with new guitarist Chris Broderick, who has previously played with JAG PANZER and NEVERMORE.

The third installment of the U.S. Gigantour — the acclaimed traveling heavy music festival launched in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine — will launch April 12 in Denver, CO with headliner MEGADETH, Swedish metal band IN FLAMES, Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM, Arizona's modern extreme JOB FOR A COWBOY and Oakland, CA heavy power trio HIGH ON FIRE all confirmed. The 29-date trek will criss-cross North America and wraps May 22 in Phoenix, AZ.
